Mosaic Receives Europe’s Award for Best New Wine List 2026
We are proud to announce that Mosaic Restaurant at Château des Tesnières has been honoured with the prestigious Best New Wine List in Europe 2026 award at the World’s Best Wine Lists Awards.
This exciting recognition was announced in the official Château des Tesnières / Restaurant Mosaic Press Release, issued in July 2026, celebrating the restaurant’s exceptional commitment to creating one of Europe’s most inspiring wine experiences.
The award recognises the outstanding quality, depth, originality, balance, and harmony of Mosaic’s wine programme, as judged by an independent international panel of wine professionals. It is a remarkable achievement that reflects not only the excellence of the cellar itself but also its seamless integration with Chef Chantel Dartnall’s culinary philosophy.
Since opening Mosaic at Château des Tesnières on 1 May 2025, Chef Chantel Dartnall has created an intimate gastronomic destination where just twenty guests at a time are invited to experience an extraordinary dialogue between cuisine, wine, art, and nature.
At the heart of this distinction lies one of Europe’s most remarkable private wine collections.
Curated by Cobus du Plessis, Chef Chantel Dartnall’s father and a highly respected wine connoisseur, the cellar houses an exceptional collection of approximately 30,000 bottles, including some of France’s and Europe’s most celebrated vintages alongside outstanding wines from South Africa. The collection also features around 10,000 bottles of Champagne, ranging from renowned houses to rare and exceptional discoveries, creating an extraordinary cellar for wine enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Guiding guests through this remarkable collection is Renée Veldhuizen, Mosaic’s Master Sommelier, whose passion, knowledge, and storytelling transform every pairing into a memorable journey. Each wine has been carefully selected not only for its individual excellence but for the way it complements Chef Dartnall’s botanical, artistic, and deeply expressive cuisine.
