Step inside and surrender to a world awash in the rich tones of crimson, saffron, and marigold—where silk drapes whisper against carved wood, and every motif holds a forgotten tale. This is the India Suite: a quiet homage to a land where mystery and meaning are woven into every thread, and where centuries of tradition echo softly within the walls of a French château.

At the heart of this suite is a celebration of Shakti—the sacred feminine energy revered in Hindu culture, where goddesses are honoured as embodiments of strength, compassion, wisdom, and creation. In India, the feminine divine is not a concept on the periphery but a force at the very centre of spiritual life. Yoginis are equals to yogis, and devotion flows as freely to the goddess as to the god. It is this veneration that finds its most timeless expression in the Taj Mahal.

Commissioned by Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife, the Empress Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal stands as a monument to love and grief. She died giving life, and in mourning her loss, Shah Jahan created one of the most iconic and awe-inspiring tributes ever known—a structure that continues to stir hearts across the world. It is this spirit of devotion and feminine grace that infuses the India Suite.

A hand-painted backdrop unfolds like a journey across India’s vast and varied landscapes, while a grand wooden gate marks the threshold between imagination and reality. The room is adorned with intricate carvings and softly glowing lanterns, each detail inviting stillness and wonder. Wooden colonnades divide the space with delicate rhythm, while the bed—an artwork in itself—features carvings of fantastical creatures, their elegance a testament to the skill of master artisans.

Every object in this suite speaks with intention. Together, they form a sanctuary that honours the soul of India: maternal, mystic, generous. The India Suite is more than a room—it is an inner temple, a space that stirs the senses and stokes the imagination, gently encouraging you to dream of distant lands and timeless love.
